Address rotation

Automatic privacy rotation for receive addresses after deposits are spent down.

What is the rotation system ?

Firewallet can automatically rotate receive addresses for privacy. When rotation is enabled on an address, the wallet waits until that address is mostly empty, then archives it and creates a fresh one at the next HD index.

Supported assets

Asset Rotation Balance threshold
Bitcoin (BTC) Yes about €0.10 on the address
Litecoin (LTC) Yes about €0.10
Solana (SOL) Yes about €0.10
Monero (XMR) Yes about €0.10
Ethereum (ETH) Yes about €0.50 combined with USDT (ERC-20)
Tron (TRX) Yes about €0.50 combined with USDT (TRC-20)

Token-only wallets (USDT ERC-20 / TRC-20) use the parent native address. Enable rotation on the ETH or TRX receive row.

How to enable

  1. Open the wallet page for the asset (for example Dashboard → BTC).
  2. Find the receive address card.
  3. Set Rotation to On.

Payment links that pointed at the old address are updated to the new one when rotation happens.

When rotation runs

Rotation is checked during normal balance refresh (about every 15 seconds while you use the dashboard). All of the following must be true:

  1. Rotation is On for that address.
  2. The address is at least 1 hour old (avoids rotating before a payer finishes).
  3. The address has at least one incoming transaction in cache.
  4. The balance is at or below the threshold (see table above).

For ETH and TRX, Firewallet sums the native + linked USDT balance on the same address before comparing to €0.50.

After rotation

  • The old address is archived — it no longer appears in your wallet UI or polling.
  • A new receive address is created; rotation stays enabled on the new one.
  • Archived rows are removed after a 6 hour grace period (so in-flight payments and payment links can catch up).

Linked assets (ETH / TRX)

ETH and USDT (ERC-20) share one address. TRX and USDT (TRC-20) share one address.

  • Rotation waits for the combined balance to drop low enough.
  • USDT sends need native coin on the same address for fees (ETH gas or TRX energy/bandwidth). Keep a small amount of ETH or TRX on the address if you receive USDT.

Solana, Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Monero use standalone addresses with the lower €0.10 threshold.

Limits

  • Up to 10 active receive addresses per asset (archived rotation rows do not count toward the cap until cleanup).
  • Rotation requires fiat price data; if prices are unavailable, rotation is skipped until they load again.

Tips

  • Turn rotation Off on an address you want to keep long term (for example a static donation address).
  • If you expect another deposit to the same address soon, leave rotation Off until the balance is spent down.
